Northlands Salvation Army News

Northlands continues
to be committed to developing in line with strategic need by flexibly adapting our service to meet the gaps in service provision. To this end we commenced opening our doors to 16-17 year olds in December 2006 providing 4 training flats for this age group.

The Salvation Army
is proposing to redevelop the Northlands site. The Welsh Assembly has introduced new standards for homeless hostel accommodation, which must be met by 2011. The current hostel will not comply with these standards after this date and so our plan is to build a new 26 bed hostel near the front of the site leaving the remainder of the land available for the development of affordable housing.
