Spiritual Programme

An important element of the work at Northlands is its Spiritual Programme. The Salvation Army is unashamedly first and foremost a Christian Church and as such seeks to combine the spiritual and social elements of its work in an appropriate and practical way.

To affect the spiritual needs of the Centre, Northlands has a Chaplain- Major Edwin Tucker.

The aim of the Spiritual programme is to allow clients, should they wish, an opportunity to explore and express personal and corporate faith, at whatever level, and to offer pastoral care for everyone associated with the Centre, both residents and staff.

Whilst being a Christian organisation, we respect those of other faiths and will support and encourage residents who wish to worship according to their own faith and practice.

No part of the Spiritual Programme at Northlands is compulsory and clients are free to take part in worship just as and when they feel comfortable. Both the Services and weekly Prayers are, by intention, friendly and relaxed.

As part of the spiritual programme at Northlands the following are available:

1 – "Refresh" - a chance to come and have a cup of tea or coffee and chat with the Chaplain – every Wednesday at 10.00am.

2 - Morning prayers – every Wednesday at 9.30am

3 – Sunday Worship – 2.30pm
